Abu Dhabi, 30 August 2026: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers' Club, the sixth round of auctions at the 2026 Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition saw fierce competition after a Gyr Pure Ultra White falcon chick sold for AED 1.1 million (USD 300,000) at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, drawing a public turnout that exceeded expectations.
The falcon was bred and owned by Mark Moglich’s falcon farm in the United States of America. It qualified for the auction weighing 1,460 grams, with a length of 18.5 inches and a wingspan of 18.5 inches.
The falcon auction programme, the largest in the exhibition’s history, forms part of the 23rd edition of ADIHEX, organised by ADNEC Group, one of Modon’s companies, in strategic partnership with the Emirates Falconers’ Club. The exhibition reinforces Abu Dhabi’s role in preserving cultural heritage and fostering connections between cultures, bringing together 2,405 exhibitors and brands from 71 countries worldwide.
Held under the theme “The Legacy Lives On”, the largest edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition to date continues Abu Dhabi’s leadership in safeguarding cultural heritage, traditional sports and customs. Its extensive programme of events includes the falcon auctions, which have remained a major attraction for visitors throughout the exhibition.
Today’s auction drew strong interest from visitors, specialists, falcon enthusiasts, breeding farm owners, breeders and experts from around the world. This reflects ADIHEX’s leading position in the field of falcon auctions, supported by rigorous evaluation standards for all participating birds. Each falcon undergoes detailed assessments based on the highest international benchmarks, covering lineage and purity, physical condition, and aesthetic qualities such as colour, feather length and symmetry, as well as its achievements in beauty contests and hunting competitions.
