Major exhibitions Gastech and MECOM return to Abu Dhabi

After previous success in Abu Dhabi in 2006, Gastech returns to the capital and will utilize the new modern facilities of the recently completed Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) for the first time.  MECOM also makes a welcome return for the third consecutive year.

Gastech is the largest international conference and exhibition for the LNG, LPG and natural gas industries.  The 2009 edition will gather 400 exhibitors from over 32 countries to more than 38,000 sqm of gross exhibition space when it runs from 25-28 May 2009

Middle East Communications (MECOM) 2009, the only dedicated enterprise communications trade show and conference in the Middle East, will be held in the UAE capital from 25-27 May 2009 and will take up more than 13,000sqm of gross space at ADNEC.

The 24th edition of Gastech, hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and its Group of Companies and held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, includes 74 exhibitors from the Gulf, 57 of which are UAE-based and the number of regional exhibitors has almost doubled since the show was last held in Abu Dhabi in 2006. Gastech's 2009 conference theme is "Gas: A Time of Change - A Time for Challenges, Solutions and Alternatives."  More than 100 industry speakers and representatives will lead discussions on commercial and technical issues affecting the global gas industry..

MECOM 2009 will showcase next-generation communications technology and solutions in government, healthcare, hospitality, banking and finance, public sector, oil & gas, real estate, retail, manufacturing, logistics, and media. The event will welcome more than 200 leading communications suppliers and feature over 30 executive-level presentations. Special Communications in Enterprise Forums will provide valuable insights on how managers can enhance organizational performance through the latest communications solutions.

Gastech and MECOM are two of more than 70 major events which ADNEC will stage in 2009.  ADNEC, which became the Gulf's largest exhibition centre in November 2008, has recently been honoured with seven major awards at including "best international venue" awards at International CONFEX, "Best Meetings and Events Venue" The Middle East Event Awards and "Middle East's Leading Exhibition Centre" World Travel Awards
