AED1.4 Billion in Deals Signed on Day 2 of UMEX 2016

His Excellency Brigadier General Rashid Mohammed Al-Shamsi, Chairman of Higher Organizing Committee of the second Unmanned System Exhibition (UMEX 2016) announced that the UAE Armed Forces signed 3 deals worth AED 1.4 billion on the second day of the event, taking the total value of deals signed on the first two days to AED2.237 billion.

Al-Shamsi added that the Armed Forces signed an AED1.327 billion contract with Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments (ADASI) to buy unmanned aerial vehicles, control systems and ground control stations.

 Shamal Solutions Military Consultancy won an AED143.3 million deal to train pilots on helicopters at Packer College in Australia.

 Another important deal signed on the second day was reported by Arian Labs that won an AED992,000 deal.

 Al-Shamsi added that that the increase in the volume of deals signed on the second day of the event reflects the events success. He also revealed that the event attracted over 3,000 visitors on its opening day.

 “Due to the overwhelming response from local and international companies, the organizing committee will work with our partners and stakeholders to double the size of the event in its upcoming version in 2018,” Al-Shamsi added.
