ADNEC Rolls-out Complimentary Self-parking Service for Grandstand Retail Customers

Publication Date: 28 Apr 2015

Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) has launched a free self-parking service for customers of retail outlets at Grandstand, a 36-year-old landmark that houses food and retail outlets, as well as the offices of Abu Dhabi Business Centre by Department of Economic Development, National Bank of Abu Dhabi and Emirates Post Office.

The complimentary self-parking facility is extended to regular ADNEC visitors at AED150 per visit. To avail the service at the 166-bay facility, customers need to get their parking tickets validated by a retailer at the venue.

Abdulla Al Hammadi, Director of Ancillary Serveries at ADNEC, said: “The provision of additional parking spaces adjacent to Grandstand is a reflection of ADNEC’s commitment to ensuring the convenience of its customers, especially those who frequently visit the retail and service outlets at our venue. In line with our mandate to raise the profile of Abu Dhabi as a leading MICE destination in the region, ADNEC continues to invest in the development of our facilities, while consistently providing our customers with a seamless experience across our various ancillary services.”

The facility may not be available during major events including the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX), the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) and World Future Energy Summit (WFES).

Built in 1979, Grandstand is one of the oldest landmarks in Abu Dhabi.  It achieved renown as the favourite location of the UAE’s founder President, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, to view national parades and celebrations.  Today, Grandstand is an integral element of ADNEC and is the official presidential viewing point for the opening of IDEX and similar mega events.

ADNEC offers 133,000 sq m of inter-connected floor space to match the expectations of a wide variety of events and exhibitions. Equipped with modern facilities and built to international standards, the venue attracted 1.6 million people across 327 events in 2014.
