Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) today unveiled the official platforms and hashtags of the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX 2017) and Naval Defence Exhibition (NAVDEX 2017) on key social media platforms.
For IDEX 2017, ADNEC has selected #IDEXUAE as the official English hashtag and #NAVDEXUAE as the official English hashtag of the Naval Defence Exhibition 2017.
Organised by ADNEC in collaboration with the UAE Armed Forces under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, IDEX and NAVDEX 2017 will run at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 19 to 23 February, 2017.
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Acting Group CEO of ADNEC, said: "By unveiling the official hashtags of IDEX and NAVDEX 2017, ADNEC seeks to enhance cross-channel communication with all event partners in both public and private sectors. The move will support our ongoing efforts to raise the profile of both events globally, while enhancing Abu Dhabi’s position as the capital of business tourism in the region.”
He added: “IDEX and NAVDEX 2017 have seen a high uptake from leading exhibitors, decision makers and specialised companies in the defence industry. We have sold out the entire 133,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor space within Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in record time, demonstrating the growing importance of both events as definitive defence and security events on regional and international levels."
For his part, Saeed Al Mansouri, Director of IDEX and NAVDEX 2017, said: “The IDEX team is leveraging the latest technologies to promote various activities and programmes associated with the event and ensure that information is disseminated to our audience in a timely and accurate manner. In addition to directly engaging with all our partners and participants, this approach will help us measure their satisfaction with the IDEX participation and experience. We will use our findings to ensure that the quality of services provided to them comply with the highest international standards and exceed expectations.”
Al Mansouri pointed out that social media platforms are highly important for IDEX and NAVDEX as they enable all exhibitors and visitors to share their feedback with ADNEC as the key organiser of the two mega events. For its part, ADNEC will use these platforms to showcase the advanced facilities offered by Abu Dhabi as a leading international MICE destination.

IDEX 2015 attracted more than 1,200 local and international defence manufacturers and contractors and drew over 101,000 visitors from across the world. The event also facilitated business deals worth AED18.3 billion.
