ADNEC's message travels more than 100,000 km

Publication Date: 27 Nov 2006

Representatives from Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) and Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) are currently travelling more than 100,000 km to promote Abu Dhabi as a major exhibition and conference destination. Key staff are attending exhibitions in China, the United Kingdom, The United States, Spain and Kuwait, to promote ADNEC's world-class exhibition facilities and attract international interest and support for Abu Dhabi's Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) sector.

The influential events relating to the MICE and travel industries are providing crucial opportunities for ADNEC and ADTA to tell to the world about the incredible developments taking place in Abu Dhabi. During the 'UFI Congress' in Beijing, the 'World Travel Market' in London, 'Expo Expo' in San Diego, 'EIBTM' in Barcelona and 'Made in the UAE' in Kuwait, ADNEC's new state of the art exhibition centre is being promoted and the advantages of hosting an event in Abu Dhabi are being outlined.

H.H. Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of ADNEC and ADTA said: "The UAE has woken up to the fact that an incredible story is taking place at ADNEC, but we are more than just a regional exhibition venue. ADNEC will be recognised as having one of the most modern and prestigious exhibition facilities in the world and with our representatives travelling to these important events, we are making sure that the rest of the world knows this."

Speaking from the UFI Congress in Beijing, His Excellency, Ahmad Humaid Al Mazrouie, ADNEC Managing Director said "The UFI Congress, in addition to the other events that we are attending, has been an excellent opportunity to promote Abu Dhabi and as the leading destination for important international events and the feedback we are receiving is extremely positive"

A combination of economic reforms, multi-billion Dirham investments and aggressive advertising have contributed to Abu Dhabi's emergence as a major exhibition and convention destination for prestigious events. With studies proving that the exhibition industry is a major catalyst for economic growth, new prestigious facilities have been developed for the capital of the UAE to expand and promote this sector. ADNEC will open its new state-of-the-art exhibition centre in February 2007 when the world's largest defence exhibition, IDEX 2007 comes to Abu Dhabi.

The new venue will boast more than 57,000 square meters of exhibition floor space, 2,000 square meters of serviced office space and dedicated conference facilities for 1,200 people.

"When complete, ADNEC's new exhibition centre will be unmatched in terms of style, quality and prestige and will host the premier events from the world's leading organisers. With a strong liquid-economy, a strategic location and imaginative international promotion, Abu Dhabi is quickly becoming an important nucleus of the Middle East," Mazrouie concluded.
